Saving a tire comparison locally

Convenient in one browser, portable when you export a backup.

What “saved here” means

A named project is stored in this browser for this site. It is not an account and does not synchronize to another device or browser profile. Someone using the same browser profile may be able to see it. Choose a project name that is useful without adding information you do not need to store.

Name the comparison, then verify the result

After calculating, choose Save and give the project a recognizable name. Keep the original and new sizes in mind when naming alternatives. A storage error means the project was not saved persistently; the current calculation and download actions remain available.

Use JSON for a portable copy

Export a project JSON file when the inputs need to survive browser cleanup or move to another browser. Review its names, comparison types and inputs, then select the entries to restore. Merge keeps the existing collection and skips matching saved copies by default; select a matching item explicitly if you want another copy. Replace is an explicit choice to replace the collection with the selected entries. A PDF records results, but it does not carry the same editable project structure.

Temporary mode avoids persistent project writes

You can calculate and download without saving a project. Temporary mode keeps the active work in memory for the current session. Closing or reloading may discard it, so download a file before leaving if you want to keep the result. Browser theme preferences are a separate setting from named projects.

Deletion and recovery have different limits

Deleting a saved item removes it from the current browser’s project list. Use the offered undo action while it remains available, or restore a previously downloaded JSON backup. Clearing site data can remove the whole local collection and preferences; TireSpan has no remote copy from which to recover them.
